Effort and Ease
Learning how to downregulate your nervous system is a precious gift and an invaluable tool. One of the most accessible and effective ways to do this is through manipulating the breath. That being said, the body is an integrated system – for example, posture greatly affects the way you breathe, and the way you breathe directly impacts your neurological state. In other words, if you want to control the way you feel neurologically, it's necessary to improve posture and breath mechanics first. In this workshops, you will learn repositioning techniques that will improve your posture, and teach you how to control your nervous system via the breath. We will work hard and have lots of fun, and we will conclude with an easy breezy breath practice that will leave you feeling super chill and high as a kite. All levels welcome.

Functional Shoulders
Struggling with slouched shoulders!? Shoulder related complaints are among the most common Matt receives at the clinic. And if you've ever suffered a shoulder injury, you know how complicated rehabilitating this area can be. This is mainly because the shoulders are simply misunderstood by most movement professionals and healthcare providers (including PT's). Pre-habilitating, rehabilitating, and improving shoulder function is all about creating space in this area via AIR PRESSURE (because really, everything is about breathing). In order to improve the function of the shoulders, we must first reestablish a joint connection between the posterior rib-cage and the scapula (and this is facilitated via air pressure). Once this connection is made, all we need to do is improve the mobility of the shoulder girdle, and glenohumeral joint – easy peasy! Matt loves this topic, and cannot wait dive in with you. The information offered in this workshop will be easily digestible and accessible to everyone. All levels welcome.

With a variety of formal training in many disciplines, Matt’s teaching pulls from numerous styles in the Yoga system, as well as Postural Restoration, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization and Functional Range Systems. Blending the old with the new, and combining tradition with science, Matt offers an intelligent and relevant style for students wanting to improve the way they move and breathe, and for teachers seeking insight and refinement in the way they teach. Matt teaches classes, workshops, and trainings online and all around the world.
